Zhengzhou/Luoyang to Xi’an, only within 2.5 hrs by train in 2010.

The Passenger Dedicated Lines—PDL, at a speed of 200-350km/hour, will be moving in orbit between Xi’an and Zhengzhou in 2010. The whole trip will take less than 2.5hrs. It makes the travel between Luoyang and Xi’an much easier which will be less than 2 hrs.

It will be in trial operation since 1 Aug 2009 and will be formally put into operation since 28 Dec 2009. It is the first started part of the Xuzhou-Zhengzhou-Xi’an-Baoji-Lanzhou PDL line which is one of the 10 PDLs in the middle and long term China’s railway plans.

The new PDL Zhengzhou-Xi'an railway is 484.518 kilometers in length, 59.75% of which are bridges and tunnels. The largest transmission capacity was 83.4 million, of which about 37 million people for the beginning period. Design traffic speed: maximum 350 km / h, presently available, 200 km / h. Along the railway there are a total of 13 (10 new) railway stations. The 10 new stations are New Xingyang, New Gongyi, Luoyang South, New Mianchi, New Sanmenxia, New Lingbaoliuzhan in Henan; New Huashan, new Weinan, New Lintong, Xi'an North, Xianyang West, (New) Yangling, Wuzhangyuan, (new) Baoji in Shaanxi Province.
